If you have one chance to ask Jordan Poole any question in the world, make sure it is not about Draymond Green.
While speaking to the media over the weekend during NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, the Washington Wizards guard dodged questions about Green.
Poole opted to talk about his new team instead when asked what role Green and their preseason punching incident played in his departure from Golden State.
“We’re in Washington now,” Poole said. “Playing with [Kyle Kuzma], great duo. Being able to really flourish, expand your game and help a new team. Help lead an entire group of guys, it’s a challenge that we’re up for… Everybody’s locked in, wants to be here, start something that we can have that can be special.”
The altercation with Green hung over the Warriors all last season, with coach Steve Kerr lamenting its impact.
“There’s no hiding from it — the incident with Draymond and Jordan at the beginning of the year played a role in that,” Kerr said in May. “It’s hard for that not to impact a team.”

Poole was dealt to the Wizards in exchange for Chris Paul this offseason, ending his tenure in Golden State.
It wasn’t all bad for the fifth-year guard, who also discussed his relationship with guards Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson and how grateful he is for his time with the Warriors.
“Those are the two greatest shooters of all time, in my opinion, personally,” the former Michigan product said. “It’s just things that you learn in practice, in the game, on the road that you wouldn’t be able to learn not being in the mix. And I’m thankful for that. I’m grateful for that. You learn, you apply it to what your skill set [is], the things that you want to be able to be good at.

“I also built a relationship to where I can ask them. I can text Steph, I can text Klay, I can call them and just have a conversation. That doesn’t leave, that doesn’t go anywhere.”
Poole, who will have to play against the Warriors next season, jokingly said that “if anything, I just know the plays that they run.”
