It’s a small world after all — though Jon Hamm might hope it’s not that small.
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos chatted with the Your Friends & Neighbors star on Friday’s Live with Kelly and Mark, shortly before welcoming The Doobie Brothers for a performance.
“We have the Doobie Brothers on set today. Were you a big fan?” Consuelos asked.
Hamm said “absolutely,” noting that he “just read” lead singer Michael McDonald’s memoir, What a Fool Believes.
“And I didn’t know this, he grew up literally — everybody’s around the corner from me, basically — but Michael McDonald grew up in St. Louis where I’m from. He’s a couple years older than me, but he grew up, like, one community over from me.”
Ripa replied, “No kidding.”
Hamm quipped, “So we most likely hung out when we were children.”
Consuelos chimed in, “Jon, and I grew up about 25 miles away in Lebanon, Illinois.”
The Mad Men alum replied, “Oh yeah, Lebanon! Across the river. Beautiful.”

Consuelos teased, “So we might’ve dated the same girl.”
As the audience laughed, Hamm told Consuelos, “Keep your mouth shut.”
Ripa assured Hamm that “he doesn’t know anything about it,” to which he replied, “Fabulous.”
Hamm and his wife, Anna Osceola, tied the knot in 2023, per People. Osceola is also working on his Apple TV+ dramedy, as Hamm told Ripa and Consuelos that “she plays one of the titular friends and neighbors.”
“There are several recognizable faces in the cast as well,” he explained, “a lot of Broadway actors, New York actors that we’ve got to play the group surrounding us. And it’s been great. It’s fun to go to work together as you most likely know.”
Ripa agreed, “It is. It’s nice.”
Hamm added, “Sharing a car on the way to work, sometimes we bring the dog. It’s very nice.”
After Ripa said that she and Consuelos have yet to bring their dog to their new studio, Hamm told them that they’re “missing out.”
Ripa conceded, “I’m not sure if dogs are allowed in here. I don’t know.”
Consuelos said, “We’ll find out.”
Hamm teased, “By the way, you probably know a guy. I’m sure they’re fine.”
