Johnny Manziel didn’t waste any time jabbing Texas following its crushing College Football Playoff semifinal loss to Washington on Monday night.

In a post shared early Tuesday on X, Texas A&M’s former quarterback sent a message to the Longhorns, who will face the Aggies this fall upon joining the Southeast Conference (SEC).

“11/30/2024 we’ll see just how back you guys are,” Manziel wrote, along with an emoji with horns.

The Longhorns finished the regular season at 12-2 and first in the Big 12 Conference.

Texas will join the SEC in July.

It has been more than a decade since the longtime rivals have faced one another, with the Longhorns defeating the Aggies, 27-25, in their most recent matchup in November 2011.

The rivalry was halted when Texas A&M departed the Big 12.

Though the anticipated reunion is still months away, questions are swirling about Texas’ near future following the Longhorns’ 37-31 loss to the Huskies.

It’s been speculated that quarterback Quinn Ewers will return for another season, with ESPN reporting in December the likelihood “has increased exponentially.”

As for backup quarterback Arch Manning, the nephew of NFL legends Eli and Peyton Manning, he is said to be “perfectly happy at Texas” amid the growing spotlight on a potential next move.

The Aggies, meanwhile, are entering the upcoming season with new head coach Mike Elko, who replaced Jimbo Fisher.

Manziel lauded Fisher on social media following the coach’s firing in November.

“In my experiences Jimbo Fisher allowed me to immerse myself in the @AggieFootball program from the very first day on the job. I thank you for allowing me to spend time in the building with the guys and treating me with the utmost respect. Thank you for all that you’ve done for our university,” he wrote at the time.

Manziel was a member of the Aggies from 2011-13.

He was drafted by the Browns in 2014 at No. 22 overall before flaming out of the NFL two years later.
