John Stamos

John Stamos was quick to notice Kelly Ripa‘s absence from Live with Kelly and Mark — and used it to rib Mark Consuelos in a priceless morning show moment.

The Full House alum stopped by on this morning’s previously recorded episode to speak with Consuelos and guest co-host Maria Menounos, and quickly pointed out Consuelos’ “nice haircut.”

“Did you join the military or something?” Stamos quipped.

Consuelos clarified that the buzz cut “was for another job,” but Stamos wasn’t done taking more hilarious jabs at the All My Children alum.

“Where’s Kelly? She quit finally because of the haircut?” Stamos joked.

Consuelos, who got a kick out of Stamos’ banter, first introduced his buzz cut in July, shortly after Ripa had attempted to convince him to grow out his luscious locks by playfully urging him to “have a hot girl summer.”

Stamos also lamented his 6-year-old son Billy’s haircut, teasing that he’s “still upset” that he opted for a chop. After Stamos conceded that “he still looks beautiful,” he showed viewers a picture of him smiling behind his son with his new ‘do.

“That’s the best acting I’ve ever done in my life, because I didn’t want him to think that I was a little in shock,” he said. “I still am.”

He even joked about “googling help groups” for parents enduring the same child haircut-induced struggles.

“There isn’t any self-help groups out there, but I’m starting one,” he added.

As for Ripa’s absence, she has been out all week, with Menounos, Jane Krakowski , and Live‘s announcer Deja Vu filling in for her at the host desk alongside Consuelos. On Friday (Aug. 9), Jenny Mollen will take on the task, and guest Michael Urie will appear to talk his role in Broadway’s Once Upon A Mattress.

Live with Kelly and Mark airs on weekdays. Check out their website for your local listings.
