Joel Embiid made sure he gave his jersey to a special member of the crowd at Capital One Arena after he recorded his sixth career 50-point game and his 76ers defeated the Wizards, 131-126.

That would be his father, Thomas, of course.

The Sixers shared a heartwarming video on Wednesday night of Embiid handing over his jersey to his dad after the game.

The elder Embiid was grinning from ear to ear as the younger Embiid gave him the jersey after the impressive performance.

It was a big night for the Sixers star, who was returning after missing the previous two games due to illness.

Embiid didn’t disappoint in his first game back putting up 50 points on 19-of-29 shooting while pulling down 13 rebounds and dishing out seven assists.

The Philadelphia big man also made a bit of history during the course of the night as well: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Wilt Chamberlain are the only centers in NBA history with more 50-point games.

With Wednesday marking Embiid’s fourth time with 50-plus points, 10-plus rebounds and five-plus assists, he is now tied with Chamberlain for most such games in 76ers history.

What should make the feat even more astounding was the fact that Embiid still didn’t feel 100 percent during the game, which he revealed in a postgame interview with NBC Sports Philadelphia

“I didn’t feel good. My chest was killing me,” Embiid said.

“I was getting back a little bit. That’s why I felt a little bit better in the second half as far as my wind, but I was struggling. But I was much better than I was because I was pretty bad.”

Embiid had 15 of Philly’s 25 first-quarter points on Wednesday and has put up 48 or more points in three of the last four meetings with Washington.
