Joe Jonas is keeping an open mind.

The “Cake by the Ocean” singer hopes to develop a more civil relationship with his estranged wife, Sophie Turner, after their divorce took a messy turn over child custody issues, a source tells Page Six exclusively.

“Joe is committed to making it work with Sophie in mediation and doesn’t want to put up a fight — as long as they can come to a fair agreement on the kids,” the insider shares.

Jonas, 34, and Turner, 27, began mediation Wednesday in New York City.

The sessions are expected to last four days, according to their attorneys, who said in court Tuesday that the ultimate goal is to establish a co-parenting plan for the exes’ two daughters: Willa, 3, and Delphine, 1.

Reps for Jonas and Turner didn’t immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.

The “Game of Thrones” star sued the Jonas Brothers member in September for the “immediate return” of their kids to the “forever home” that they had planned to buy in England prior to their separation.

Turner claimed in court documents obtained by Page Six that Jonas recently had a change of heart and was withholding Willa and Delphine’s passports to keep them in the US.

A rep for Jonas later told us that the Grammy nominee was “OK with the kids being raised both in the US and the UK.”

The rep also described Turner’s use of the word “abduction” in her emergency lawsuit as “misleading at best and a serious abuse of the legal system at worst.”

A Manhattan federal judge set a trial date of Jan. 2, 2024, for the custody battle, which will follow the Dec. 9 conclusion of the Jonas Brothers’ ongoing US tour.

In the interim, Jonas and Turner have agreed to keep their girls in NYC.

The DNCE frontman filed for divorce from the actress in August.

While the pair said in a joint statement at the time that the dissolution of their four-year marriage was a “united decision,” Turner claimed in her suit that she had “found out through the media” that Jonas was leaving her, which he denied.

A source previously told Page Six exclusively that “divorce was a last resort” for the “Sucker” crooner, but he “reached a point where he felt that he had exhausted all options to salvage the marriage.”
