“I’m just not going to respond to that from here. Look, we have heard from House Republicans for years and years and years . . . the inaccuracies and lies when it comes to this issue.”
That was chief White House flack Karine Jean-Pierre’s response to questions over the latest revelations from the House Oversight Committee about Joe Biden’s shady family business.
Note that she didn’t even deny anything, just as the Bidens never actually said the laptop wasn’t Hunter’s.
And the only one peddling lies here is Jean-Pierre.
Everything the Committee has produced — and The Post has reported on — is verified in black and white.
So yes, Hallie Biden got a $35,000 slice of a sweet Chinese energy deal rigged up by brother-in-law and former flame Hunter. Yes, Uncle Jim got a piece. And yes, an as-yet-unnamed “Biden” (can it be alleged “big guy” Joe himself?) got another.
All that’s beyond dispute at this point.
But Jean-Pierre’s arrogant dismissal sends a plain signal: Team Joe will run its 2020 playbook all over again through the 2024 election.
In other words:
Worse still, the White House has every reason to be confident this playbook will work yet again. Not least because the media’s still playing defense.
There’s been no real interest in digging into the whys and wherefores of Hallie’s payment, for example, from The New York Times or The Washington Post.
Really? Isn’t it just a little bit curious that the president’s daughter-in-law, who works as a school counselor, was getting big bucks from a Chinese energy company? For what?
Actual journalists see stories like this and seize them in their teeth. The court scribes we’re stuck with do everything in their power to make them go away.
No wonder Jean-Pierre feels so confident telling Americans not to believe their lyin’ eyes.
