NextImg:Joe Buck’s warning for ‘Monday Night Football’ fans after Nick Chubb’s gruesome injury

Nick Chubb’s injury was so severe that ESPN broadcasters Joe Buck and Troy Aikman said there was no way the network would show the replay during the Browns-Steelers game on “Monday Night Football.”

The Cleveland Browns star running back suffered a gruesome knee injury after a hit from Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick in the second quarter of their Week 2 matchup.

“I am told that the replay of Nick Chubb getting injured is not to be seen,” Buck said on the broadcast.

“Yeah, we’re not going to show it,” Aikman added. “It’s as bad as you could imagine.”

That’s when the crowd at Acrisure Stadium was heard gasping at the replay, which was shown at the game in Pittsburgh.

“They just showed it on the big screen here in Pittsburgh and the crowd gasped,” Buck said.

After Chubb was carted off the field, Buck commended the crowd in Pittsburgh for being “classy” during the situation.

Buck added that fans were cheering for Chubb as he left the field.

Chubb took a handoff from quarterback Deshaun Watson and took a low hit at the four-yard-line by Fitzpatrick.

As the collision occurred, Chubb’s left knee appeared to bend sideways and inward — and he emerged clutching his knee while sitting down down on the field.

It was the same knee Chubb had torn his MCL, LCL and PCL in 2015 during his college career with Georgia, according to ESPN.

Chubb suffered a season-ending knee injury, including multiple torn ligaments, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski had told reporters after the 26-22 loss that Chubb’s knee injury is significant.

When asked if he anticipates Chubb will be out for the season, Stefanski said: “I do.”
