President Joe Biden has been double jabbed, getting a COVID-19 shot and a flu shot, The White House confirmed.
White House physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, confirmed in a memo that Biden, 80, received both shots on Friday.
O’Connor also said Biden was vaccinated several weeks ago against the respiratory illness known as RSV.
“As we enter the cold and flu season, the President encourages all Americans to follow his example and to check with their healthcare provider or pharmacist to assure that they are fully vaccinated,” the physician wrote in a memo.
This comes just weeks after First Lady Jill Biden, 72, contracted COVID-19. The president tested negative.
Biden tested positive in July 2022 and tested positive again in a “rebound” case.
The CDC has recommended every American receive any updated COVID-19 shot heading into winter as the new cases rise due to the newest variant, Eris.
Earlier this month, a top NY doctor said new cases of COVID-19 are weaker than previous years.
Dr. Erick Eiting, vice chair of operations for emergency medicine at Mount Sinai Downtown, told NBC News: “Just about everyone who I’ve seen has had really mild symptoms.”
The outlet reported that the virus so much more mild that it can be hard to tell if patients have COVID-19, allergies, or just a common cold.
“The only way that we knew that it was COVID was because we happened to be testing them,” Eiting said.
