New role, new look for CBS Sports broadcaster J.J. Watt.

The former Texans defensive end rocked a “feathered and lethal” hairstyle Sunday as he made his debut in the booth alongside play-by-play caller Ian Eagle for the Jets’ home opener against the Steelers — a look that stirred plenty of chatter before kickoff.

“90’s boy-band ahh haircut,” one X user wrote.

“Looking Handsome as hell,” another weighed in.

Although one viewer expressed disappointment over the style — “not a fan of the hair” — the three-time Defensive Player of the Year drew praise on X for his first outing in the booth.

“Jj watt is doing a fantastic job,” one fan lauded, while another shared, “JJ Watt is a great announcer.”

Watt, 36, joined CBS Sports in 2023 following the conclusion of his 12-year career in the league.

The Wisconsin alum spent the first 10 years of his prolific career with the Texans, who drafted him 11th overall in 2011. He played for the Cardinals in his final two years.

CBS announced in March that Watt would shift to the booth for the 2025 season after working as a studio analyst for “The NFL Today.”

“There is nothing better than the energy and excitement of being in the stadium on game day in the NFL,” he said in a statement at the time.”I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to return to that atmosphere each week, working with one of the best in Ian. While I certainly miss delivering hits on the field, it will be nice to leave the stadium without taking any, unless Ian decides to try something crazy.”

Watt’s first assignment happens to feature younger brother T.J. Watt, whose Steelers trailed the Jets at halftime, 17-19.
