Jimmy Kimmel was photographed in Los Angeles on Wednesday morning, one day after he threatened potential legal action against Aaron Rodgers, who suggested the late-night host could be named on a list of Jeffrey Epstein associates.
Dressed in a gray T-shirt and black workout shorts, the “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” host, 56, was seen strolling on the pavement during the daytime outing.
Hours earlier, Kimmel called out Rodgers in a fiery post on X after the Jets quarterback, 40, referenced his name when discussing court documents containing a list of individuals with ties to the late Epstein, a convicted pedophile.
“That’s supposed to be coming out soon,” Rodgers said Tuesday on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
“There’s a lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, that are really hoping that doesn’t come out.”
As the soundbite circulated on social media, Kimmel responded with a pointed message for the four-time league MVP.
“Dear Aasshole: for the record, I’ve not met, flown with, visited, or had any contact whatsoever with Epstein, nor will you find my name on any ‘list’ other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can’t seem to distinguish from reality. Your reckless words put my family in danger. Keep it up and we will debate the facts further in court. @AaronRodgers12,” Kimmel wrote on X.
McAfee, who hosts Rodgers on his show every Tuesday, addressed the situation Wednesday.
“I can see exactly why Jimmy Kimmel felt the way he felt, especially with his position, but I think Aaron was just trying to talk s–t,” McAfee said.
“Now did it go too far? … Jimmy Kimmel certainly said that was the case.”
McAfee later added, “We apologize for being a part of it. Can’t wait to see what Aaron has to say about it.”
Kimmel’s beef with Rodgers dates back to 2021, when the then-Packers quarterback tested positive for COVID-19.
At the time, the future Hall of Famer was embroiled in controversy for misleading others about his vaccination status, which Kimmel called out on a November 2021 show.
“The only thing worse than not getting vaccinated when you’re in close contact with other people is letting them think you’re vaccinated when you’re not, it’s basically the COVID equivalent of, ‘The condom fell off,'” Kimmel said.
