Jimmy Kimmel is once again calling President Donald Trump out for going easy on Russia and Vladimir Putin.

The late night host has long called the president out for his lax approach to Putin amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. This week, as President Trump vowed to send National Guard troops and Marines to Los Angeles to squash the anti-ICE protests, Kimmel reminded him that he should be focused elsewhere.

“The president of the United States has been tougher on L.A. than Russia,” Kimmel announced on Live Tuesday (June 10.)

“Remember that two-week deadline he gave Putin to sit down for peace talks with Ukraine? As of tomorrow, it’s two weeks. But by all means, send the Marines to The Grove,” he said, as he called Trump “an unstable person.”

Kimmel is referring to the two-week deadline Trump recently gave Putin to begin deescalating the war. Trump said the United States will “respond a little bit differently” if he does not see a change of course, per BBC.

Kimmel’s joke echoed a similar point he made just weeks ago when Trump’s legal team applied even more pressure on CBS and Paramount to settle the “frivolous” lawsuit he filed against the company for billions of dollars. “He’s squeezing CBS harder than he’s squeezing Russia,” Kimmel said at the time.

During Tuesday’s broadcast, Kimmel spent most of his opening monologue railing against President Trump’s response to the Los Angeles protests.

He shared clips of Trump addressing the situation from the Oval Office, where he said he sent “a very heavy force” of soldiers to the protests.

“If not, that city would be on fire. It would be burning down. The rest of it, what’s left over,” Trump says in the interview. “Because the other fire was started because they wouldn’t allow water into L.A., They wouldn’t allow water into California. They had it all shifted out to the Pacific Ocean and I turned it all around.”

Kimmel asked, “Does anyone believe this?”

“That did not happen. He so desperately wants to be the hero putting out fires. Putting out a  fire you purposely start doesn’t make you a firefighter, it makes you an arsonist with a hose,” he said.
