Jimmy Kimmel called Donald Trump’s recent ABC News interview his “most disturbing” yet after the president refused to acknowledge that a “clearly doctored” photo of Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s tattoos had been photoshopped.

On Wednesday’s episode of Live, Kimmel said President Trump’s interview with Terry Moran “went off the rails” when they reached the subject of Abrego Garcia, a Maryland man who was wrongfully deported to an El Salvador prison.

“Trump is convinced he is a member of a gang MS13 and the evidence he is so convinced by is this clearly doctored photo in which someone, possibly a five-year-old, put ‘MS13’ on his knuckles,” Kimmel said. “Now, to everyone else this looks like it was created on Microsoft Paint… but to Donald Trump this is irrefutable evidence.”

In the ABC interview, Trump doubled down on the claim and maintained Abrego Garcia’s knuckles explicitly said “MS13” on them, even as Moran attempted to segue into another topic of discussion.

“They’re giving you the big break of a lifetime… I picked you because, frankly, I never heard of you,” Trump told Moran during the interview. “I picked you Terry, but you’re not being very nice.”

Trump’s insistence was concerning for Kimmel, who joked that the president is falling for “Facebook memes.”

“Not even good Facebook memes,” he said. “He’s like your aunt who texts you a picture of a minion and asks, ‘Is this person real?'”

Kimmel pointed out that Trump “would not let it go” even as Moran tried to drop the subject.

“It’s like arguing with a child,” Kimmel said. “This is not a rational person. Best case scenario, he needs glasses. Worst case, we are about to be duped out of the presidency by a Nigerian prince.”

Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC.
