Jimmy Kimmel tried to set the record straight about President Donald Trump‘s relief efforts after the Los Angeles wildfires, considering the president is still “blathering” about “sending water to California” almost a month later.
The late night host aired some of the recent comments Trump made about the Los Angeles wildfires, some of which Kimmel pointed out were false.
“What Trump does is, he fixes problems by either creating problems or finding things that aren’t problems and then solving them,” he told the Live audience during his opening monologue Wednesday (Feb. 26).
He then aired a clip from a recent press conference that showed Trump claiming the “water is flowing in California” now after his efforts.
“That’s gonna take care of farmers, it’s gonna wetten up the land,” he said, sparking laughter from the Live audience. “It’s gonna go all the way down to Los Angeles where they have curfews on water.”
“That’s right we have curfews on water, all water has to be in bed by 10 o’clock,” Kimmel quipped. He then poked fun at Trump for claiming it would “wetten the land.”
“Here’s the thing, I know if you don’t live in southern California, you probably assume there must be some little shred of truth to the story he just told,” Kimmel explained. “There’s not. We have no limits on water, there’s no curfews on water, and the only thing he’s ‘wettened’ is the diaper he puts on everyday.”

Kimmel’s brutal roast of the president earned some cheers from the Live audience.
The late night host explained that Trump technically released reserves of water that farmers were saving for the drought season.
“He released that when they didn’t need it,” Kimmel said, adding that “it’s all part of [Trump’s] plan to make sure groceries cost a million dollars a month.”
He continued, “But thank you for the water, Mr. President, we love it. We’re literally bathing in it right now.”
Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC.
