Though The Golden Bachelorette season finale aired Wednesday (Nov. 13), Jimmy Kimmel said he was more interested in a very different “golden” meeting that took place that day: President Biden and Donald Trump‘s White House reunion, during which they called for a “smooth” transition.
“I wonder who is dreading this meeting more, Biden or Trump. Probably Biden?” Kimmel said on Live that evening. “It was so weird seeing Trump back in the White House. It’s like the sequel to Snakes on a Plane except, this time, the plane is all snakes.”
He pointed out that the political opponents appeared surprisingly chummy in the Oval Office after such a high stakes election.
“Last week, Joe Biden was an evil force who weaponized the justice system to put Trump in prison for the rest of his life,” Kimmel pointed out. “Today, they had fun.”
He then aired a clip of their conversation, in which they both kept reiterating that they were looking forward to a smooth transition.
“Is it just me or did that sounds like two guys talking about their bowel movements?” Kimmel joked. “It’ll be so smooth, smooth as you can get.”
Despite their political differences, Trump said it was a “really good meeting” and that he “really enjoyed” seeing President Biden.

But Kimmel could not look past the optics of seeing Trump back in the White House. “When you see Donald Trump sitting in front of a portrait of George Washington, you realize how ridiculous this whole thing is,” he commented.
The late night host also pointed out that one key person was once again missing: Future First Lady Melania Trump.
“Melania did not take part in the customary First Lady meeting with Dr. Jill Biden today apparently she had crying in the dark scheduled for this morning instead,” he joked.
Kimmel has been hinting that Melania’s continued absence during the campaign, and now, his presidency, may indicate that the Trumps are heading for a separation. The speculation has been enough for Kimmel to wonder what a U.S. presidency could look like if Trump were officially single.
He joked that he could see President-elect Trump “hitting on UN translators, bringing playmates from 1994 back to the Lincoln Bedroom.”
“It could be really great, actually,” he said.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC.
