Jim Gaffigan didn’t waste any time roasting Alyssa Farah Griffin‘s cozy look on this morning’s episode of The View. Right when the comedian came out on the stage, he immediately noticed that she was wearing “pajamas” — or so it seemed like it.

Griffin — whose outfits typically range from bougie New York City nightclub to slumber party with the gals — sported a silky green set to the View studio today with black platform heels. While I immediately noticed the bedtime feel to the outfit — which, no hate, because comfort is always key — it took until the second half of the episode for someone at the Hot Topics table to finally make a comment.

“It is so great to be here. And I’m just thrilled that Alyssa wore pajamas,” Gaffigan joked as he settled into his chair. “I’m overdressed for July. But she’s wearing her pajamas.”

Griffin played along with the bit as she told the comedian — who was promoting his tenth comedy special Dark Pale — that she “stumbled out of bed” to see him. Meanwhile, he continued to poke fun at his own outfit choice, which paired a sweater with a blazer. Mind you, it is 88 degrees and sunny in New York City today.

“I’m doing a lot of layers here. It’s 90 degrees out,” he said. “I’m dressed like it’s February. Why not?”

As for Griffin, it’s no secret that you “cannot trust” her with fashion. In fact, she said so herself during the July 13 episode when she wore a blue and white striped blouse, which awkwardly hung off one of her shoulders. While Joy Behar simply joked she was “fascinated” by the outfit choice, Whoopi Goldberg went a step further by bringing out The View’s longtime stylist Fran Taylor, who confirmed that Griffin was wearing it wrong the entire time.

“That makes so much more sense,” Griffin said as Taylor adjusted the symmetry of her shirt. “I think I didn’t follow instructions.”
