NextImg:Jets Week 3 report card: This was the expectation for an Aaron Rodgers-led offense

Grading the Jets’ 24-3 win over the Patriots on Thursday:

The Jets rolled up 400 yards and did not have one three-and-out all night.

This was what we expected to see from this offense with Aaron Rodgers at the helm with plenty of weapons.

Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdown passes during the Jets’ win on Sept. 19. Charles Wenzelberg

Rodgers (27 of 35, 281 yards, 2 TDs, 118.9 QB rating) was surgical in picking apart the Patriots defense.

He got rid of the ball quickly all night and spread it around.

The offensive line was strong again and Rodgers was only sacked twice.

The running back combination of Breece Hall (16 rushes, 54 yards, 1 TD) and Braelon Allen (11 rushes, 55 yards) was impressive for the second straight week.

Grade: A-

The Jets did not let the Patriots offense breathe in this one.

New England’s only points came after a pass interference penalty on D.J. Reed.

The Patriots managed just 139 yards, 78 of those were rushing.

Will McDonald IV collected two more sacks for the Jets during their win on Sept. 19. Charles Wenzelberg

The Jets had seven sacks in the game.

DE Will McDonald led the way with 2 sacks and now has 5 ½ on the season.

The Patriots punted five times and had a fumble that ended another drive.

The Patriots only had one play of 20 yards or more in the game.

Grade: A

Greg Zuerlein had a rare miss in the first half when his 45-yard field goal attempt went wide left.

The Jets did not get much going in the return game.

They were strong in their kick coverage.

Thomas Morstead had a light night with just three punts.

Grade: C

Greg Zuerlein missed a field goal during the Jets’ win against the Patriots. Charles Wenzelberg

Playing three games in 11 days was a tough task for the Jets but they would have signed up for 2-1 when the schedule came out.

Give Robert Saleh and his staff credit for navigating these first three games.

Jeff Ulbrich called a great game to stymie the Patriots defense.

Thank you

He was more aggressive than usual and loaded up to stop the run.

Nathaniel Hackett had the Jets going up-tempo early and the offense scored on two of its first three possessions.
