NextImg:Jets’ trade for Davante Adams boosts Super Bowl odds

Monday night’s loss to the Bills was a gut punch, but trading for Davante Adams is a nice luxury for a 2-4 team on the outside looking in to make the playoffs.

The Jets were +650 to win the AFC East after their 23-20 loss, but quickly moved down to +500 odds after acquiring Adams in a significant move in the market.

The Jets also moved down from 40/1 to 35/1 to win the Super Bowl, according to DraftKings.

They are now 18/1 to win the AFC, down from 20/1, and own +145 odds to make the playoffs, a small move from the +155 they were at prior to this blockbuster move.

New York just recently fired coach Robert Saleh and now acquired Adams within seven days. It’s absolute chaos under owner Woody Johnson as the Jets go all in for 2024.

Adams may return to the field this weekend as he recovers from a hamstring injury that he sustained as a member of the Raiders.

He is expected to pair with Garrett Wilson to form a top receiver combo, while Mike Williams appears to be the odd man out in a loaded offensive weapon quartet.

The Jets are slight 1.5-point favorites on the road in Pittsburgh on “Sunday Night Football” as they face a must-win game when looking at the prospect of falling to 2-5.

Russell Wilson is expected to start for the Steelers on Sunday in what will be his season debut despite Justin Fields leading Pittsburgh to a 4-2 start.

Erich Richter is a brazilian jiu-jitsu blue belt but he has a black belt in MMA betting. During the football season he’s showcased massive profits at The Post in the player prop market the last two seasons. While constantly betting long shots, his return on investment is 30.15 percent since 2022.
