The Jets won the game Monday night but may have lost their franchise quarterback.
It only took one offensive drive for the Jets’ dream season to become a potential nightmare.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the team’s prized offseason acquisition, suffered a left ankle injury on just his fourth play of the game.
While the nature and extent of the injury was not immediately known, it looked potentially serious.
The injury cast a pall over the rest of the night but the Jets did not pack it in and were able to come back from a 10-point deficit to beat their division rivals 22-16 in overtime and start the season 1-0.
Rookie Xavier Gipson returned a punt 65 yards for a touchdown in overtime to win the game.

Gipson, an undrafted free agent from Stephen F. Austin, was a surprise to make the roster and made the Jets’ decision look good as he raced through the Bills punt team.
The Jets will now have to wait and see just how serious Rodgers’ injury is.
He should undergo an MRI on Tuesday.
With Rodgers out, the Jets leaned on their defense, which forced four turnovers from Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
