The Jets got off to an ugly start in South Florida, with the prospects of ending their three-game losing streak to start the year diminishing after going into halftime down 10-3.

Gang Green had three possessions in the first half and fumbled twice, ending any momentum they built up on the drives — starting Braelon Allen losing the ball just before crossing the goal line on the Jets’ first drive.

Miami’s Jack Jones knocked the ball out of Allen’s hands, allowing the Dolphins to recover the ball.

The Dolphins followed up by going 96 yards to score a touchdown.

Things only got worse for the Jets as they fumbled yet again – this time it was quarterback Justin Fields getting the ball knocked out of his possession as he was getting sacked.

The Jets became the first team since the 2020 Bengals to have consecutive lost fumbles to start a game, per ESPN.

It had also been the first time that the Jets had turned the ball over on their first two drives since Week 2 in 2021 against the Patriots.

The Jets did finally get points to end the half when Nick Folk hit a career-best 58-yard field goal as time expired.

Fields ended the first half with 54 yards in the air on eight completions and nearly threw an interception in the closing seconds that would have ended any hope for a Folk field goal.

Allen was ruled out with a knee injury.
