The Jets have a new weapon for Aaron Rodgers.
Wide receiver Mike Williams is signing with the Jets on a one-year contract worth up to $15 million, according to multiple reports.
Williams, who was recently released by the Chargers, was visiting the Jets in Florham Park on Tuesday, and a fan even send a sandwich — a Taylor ham, egg and cheese — to support the team’s attempt to land him.
“We’re gonna need a fresh sandwich,” the official Jets X account wrote after the news broke.
The 29-year-old played just three games during the 2023 season, suffering a season-ending torn ACL in Week 3.
Williams had two 1,000-yard seasons during his seven years with the Chargers.
In 2021, he had 1,146 yards and nine touchdowns.
If Williams is healthy, he gives Rodgers, coming off his own concerning injury after tearing his Achilles, a strong No. 2 receiver behind Garrett Wilson.
