The Jets are bringing in an experienced backup QB for next season.
Tyrod Taylor agreed to terms with Gang Green on a deal that would make the veteran signal-caller Aaron Rodgers backup, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported late Monday night.
The move means that Taylor won’t have to travel all that far to suit up for his next team after spending the past two seasons with the Giants.
Taylor had 11 appearances for Big Blue last season and had five starts in 2023, throwing for 1,341 and five touchdowns.
The addition of Taylor gives the Jets a much more experienced backup and helps them avoid the dicey situation they found themselves in last season after Aaron Rodgers went down with an injury the first game of the season and they had to turn to Zach Wilson.
