Just like Aaron Rodgers, Sauce Gardner is also a fan of this five-letter word.
The Jets’ star cornerback, 22, delivered a message to fans Monday after a training camp photo of himself and “Up & Adams” host Kay Adams sparked online chatter.
“Yall gotta relax lol,” Gardner tweeted.
The image in question, which has since amassed 4.5 million views on Twitter, features Adams and Gardner smiling at the Jets’ facility with the caption, “Sauce Alert.”
“Sauce locked in as always,” one fan commented.
Another user remarked: “Sauce collects Ws every single day. It’s unreal.”
“Shams won’t like this,” one commenter posted.
The “Shams” remark is likely a reference to Adams’ November 2022 exchange with The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
When the NBA insider appeared on “Up & Adams” last fall, he spoke about missing out on things in his personal life as he continued to establish himself in the industry.
“So when we have kids,” Adams said with a laugh. “No, I’m kidding! I’m totally kidding! When you have kids…”
When a viewer tweeted, “Congrats on your future children together,” Adams responded, “lol he shut that down FAST.”
In addition to spending time with Gardner, the league’s reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year, Adams engaged with quarterback Aaron Rodgers and several members of the Jets’ brass as part of the “Up & Adams” training camp tour.
Rodgers, who once famously told Packers fans to “R-E-L-A-X,” was traded to the Jets in April after spending the first 18 years of his career in Green Bay.
The four-time league MVP has continued to embrace his new surroundings, all the while bonding with his new teammates, Gardner, specifically.
“Change can be difficult for sure, especially when it is that drastic, 18 years in one spot,” Rodgers said in July. “But if you can lean into it and embrace it, there are some really beautiful things on the other side and I have been experiencing them so far.”
