The Jets are officially in the market for a new backup quarterback.

After starter Aaron Rodgers went down with a torn Achilles just four snaps into this past season’s opener against the Bills, the Jets slogged their way through a 7-10 season that featured 11 starts from Zach Wilson, three from Trevor Siemian and two from Tim Boyle.

Speaking to reporters at Thursday night’s NFL Honors awards show, Jets owner Woody Johnson offered a blunt assessment of the backup quarterbacks’ performances.

“We need a backup quarterback. We didn’t have one last year,” Johnson said, according to The Post’s Brian Costello.

The Jets went 4-7 in Wilson’s starts while also winning the season opener against the Bills after he stepped in for Rodgers, but it now seems that the team plans to part ways with their former No. 2 overall pick after three seasons.

Elsewhere in his media availability, Johnson made it clear that head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas are on notice for next season.

“The discussions we’ve had the last couple of months, they’ve seen me about as mad as I can be,” Johnson said of the duo.

“This is it. We have to produce this year … I’m not a playoff mandate [guy] but we have to do a lot better than seven games.”
