NextImg:Jets don’t make the grade in NFLPA survey with glaring weaknesses

INDIANAPOLIS — The NFLPA handed out grades on Wednesday, and the Jets did not exactly make the honor roll.

The players association polled players on every team about a variety of subjects to hand out “report cards” for each team.

The Jets ranked 21st overall among the 32 NFL teams.

Head coach Robert Saleh finished 24th and owner Woody Johnson finished 20th.

“The number one issue the team has is with how the coaching staff manages their time, with respondents highlighting lack of efficiency around their scheduling,” it said in the report. “One might think that longer hours at the facility would make the team more successful; however, the data from across the league shows that is not the case. Of the 10 teams that player respondents believe are least efficient with players’ time, only two made the playoffs.

“The dietician is the only category/staff member that players rank in the top half when compared to the rest of the clubs.”

The nutritionist/dietician finished 10th in the NFL, the highest mark for the Jets.

The training staff finished 29th, the lowest the Jets finished in a category.

Saleh was given a grade of B.
