The Jets can’t wait to see running back Breece Hall back on the field, and they don’t expect to be waiting long.
Jets coach Robert Saleh said he is “very optimistic” that Hall will be ready for the team’s Week 1 game against the Bills.
Hall is coming back from a torn ACL in his left knee, an injury he suffered last October.
“I don’t want to jinx it,” Saleh said. “The kid’s already hitting over 22 [miles per hour] on the GPS. He looks freaking good.”
Saleh said Hall will be limited during training camp, but only because the Jets are taking it slow with Hall.
“I feel like he won’t need to be limited in training camp even though we still will just to be conscientious and cautious with him,” Saleh said. “But he looks awesome.”
Saleh said Hall is itching to get back on the field.
“Again, he’s one of those kids we’ve had to hold back from him because there’s a process,” Saleh said. “It’s weird. As a player, you don’t want to go too fast coming back from an ACL. You have to be able to balance it out with the strength. He looks strong. He looks powerful. He’s learning. I’m excited for him to get back out on the field.”
Hall rushed for 463 yards on 80 carries and scored four touchdowns as a rookie before the knee injury ended his season in Week 7.
