Fans waiting for Aaron Rodgers’ tantalizing debut with the Jets just might have to wait a little bit longer.

As the outer tendrils of Hurricane Lee rip through the East Coast, delivering heavy rains to New York, the storms may threaten the Jets’ season opener against the Bills.

“Attention tailgaters and fans currently at MetLife Stadium… There is a storm with lightning in the area,” the stadium’s social media posted. “For your safety, please seek shelter in your vehicle or the pedestrian walkover bridge in Lot E.”

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that no players or personnel are currently being allowed on the field as menacing clouds loomed above the stadium.

Game time is set for 8:15 p.m. EST for the division-rival clash, which will be featured on ESPN’s signature “Monday Night Football” program.

The television clash between Disney and Charter Spectrum ended just in time for the Jets-Bills clash, as nearly 15 million fans regained access to ESPN with the resolution of the two networks’ clash on Monday.

Just 7-10 last season, all eyes are on the Jets as they kick off the most highly-anticipated season in decades, with four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers leading the team and an entertaining season of “Hard Knocks” in the rearview mirror.

The Bills, 13-3 last year and the winner of the AFC East, will march into New Jersey as two-point favorites on Monday night.
