The Jets’ $44 million man is a healthy scratch.
Wide receiver Allen Lazard, an Aaron Rodgers favorite who signed a four-year deal with $22 million in guaranteed money this offseason, is inactive for Friday’s game against the Dolphins, The Post’s Brian Costello confirmed.
Lazard was not listed on the team’s injury report heading into the game.
The Jets potentially benching Lazard in the first season of his contract is a bad look for the franchise after it doled out significant money to bring one of Rodgers’ former running mates in Green Bay to the Big Apple.
Once a steady receiver while playing with Rodgers, Lazard has been a complete non-factor with Zach Wilson.
He has tallied just 20 catches for 290 yards and one touchdown through 10 games, and has failed to top 61 receiving yards in any game.
Lazard did not catch his lone targer last time out against Buffalo and had one catch for 17 yards the previous week against the Raiders.
With Lazard inactive, there should be more opportunities for undrafted receiver Xavier Gipson.
