Observations from Thursday’s Jets practice:
Fittingly, the final play of the final practice of training camp was a dart from Aaron Rodgers to Garrett Wilson for a touchdown.
Wilson cut across safety Tony Adams and cornerback Sauce Gardner was late sinking back in help.
The offensive line looked as it did for most of camp, with Billy Turner at left tackle and Max Mitchell at right tackle.
RT Mekhi Becton received a rest day after he got some first-team looks earlier in the week and LT Duane Brown engaged in contact for the first time this camp, but was held out of 11-on-11s.
One day after Corey Davis’ surprise retirement, WR Alex Erickson was given an increase in action with the starting offense.
With only four receivers guaranteed for the 53-man roster, the 6-foot Erickson offers a veteran presence and return ability (96 catches in 99 games), but doesn’t offer the perimeter size needed in Davis’ absence.

The Jets alternated between full-speed periods and scout-team half-speed drills, so Rodgers wasn’t always facing the starting defense.
He finished 4-for-8 with touchdowns to Wilson, Randall Cobb and Erickson. Two plays were thrown out of whack by penalties (one on each side).
WR Allen Lazard did not practice and is “dealing with an AC joint” in his shoulder, according to head coach Robert Saleh, but “we’re not worried about his availability for Week 1.” OL Wes Schweitzer (ankle) did not practice. RB Dalvin Cook is traveling back to the Jets after an excused absence to witness the birth of his child. Saleh did not commit to DE Carl Lawson (back) playing in Week 1.
