NextImg:Jensen Ackles is suited up in 'Vought Rising' first look

Prime Video released our first glimpse at the supes who will be starring in The Boys spinoff series, Vought Rising.

Set in the 1950s, the new series has been teased to be a “twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought,” according to executive producer Eric Kripke and series showrunner and executive producer Paul Grellong in a press release.

The first-look images show Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy in a much sleeker version of the supe suit we saw in The Boys. While we know Ackles was part of the superhero team Payback, he’s joined by a team of equally patriotic supes in these first-look images of newcomers Private Angel (Elizabeth Posey), Bombsight (Mason Dye), and Torpedo (Will Hochman).

Aya Cash will also be reprising her role of Stormfront, however, the actress is noticeably missing from the sneak peek. Both Cash and Ackles will serve as producers in the new series.

Cash set high expectations for the new Prime Video series before production began. “I’ve read two scripts and they’re absolutely insanely good. But that’s about all I can tell you,” Cash said in 2024.

A premiere date has not been set for Vought Rising, however, Prime Video has many projects coming down the pipeline from this universe.

Gen V is set to return with Season 2 this fall, starring several stars from The Boys including Chace Crawford as The Deep and Erin Moriarty as Starlight.  The Boys Presents: Diabolical animated series will also be continuing.

Prime Video is also developing a Mexico-based spinoff of The Boys from executive producers Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal and Blue Beetle writer Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, titled The Boys: Mexico.

For now, The Boys fans can tune into Gen V Season 2 when it premieres Sept. 17.
