Jennifer Lopez is red-y for the holidays.
Just in time for seasonal soirées, the star took to Instagram to spill her secrets to getting a “perfect” red lip — a glam go-to she called “one of the great things about the holidays.”
And while her love don’t cost a thing, J.Lo’s lip liner won’t set you back much either; she kicked off the look with the Make Up For Ever Artist Color Pencil ($22), seemingly in the shade Anywhere Caffeine.
The neutral liner — which Lopez said she prefers to a red one for a “fuller and plumper” look — is also a go-to for Hailey Bieber, who once paired it with the cult-favorite Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk lipstick ($35).
For her own lip look, Lopez swiped on a bolder hue — which appears to be a color from Nars, possibly Rita ($34) — before using a brush to add detail and “draw a little bit bigger.”

To top off the look, Lopez added her own beauty brand’s new Beso Balm Lip Mask ($19), saying the product “is going to keep your lips hydrated” and “make it look more plump.”
While she likened the final effect — completed with a swipe of her That Star Filter Complexion Booster ($39) on her face — to her own “classic ‘Jenny From the Block'” glam, she’s also inspired by other superstars’ bold beauty looks.
“When I think of red lips, I think of Marilyn Monroe, but I also think of, like, Gwen Stefani,” she said. “I think of Taylor Swift. I’m a Swiftie too.”
For her part, Swift’s red lipstick arsenal has been known to include a different Nars shade — the Dragon Girl Velvet Matte Pencil ($30) — in addition to hot hues like MAC’s Ruby Woo ($23 $20).
One thing’s for sure; if you’re hoping to rock “that red lip classic thing” this holiday season, there are plenty of superstar secrets to steal.
