Jenna Bush Hager got a chance to show off her unique sense of style during Tuesday’s (Jan. 16) broadcast of Today.

“This is all for Jenna,” Hoda Kotb announced as she began explaining this season’s latest trend: “Eclectic grandpa.”

“There’s a new style trend picking up steam,” she said. “Last year it was all about coastal grandma, now it’s about eclectic grandpa.”

She explained that the trend is noted for its use of “colorful, outside wear, knitwear, tweed, loafers with socks,” most of which Bush Hager was wearing at that very moment.

“Now, I was wearing this, let’s be honest, I wore this,” she said as the camera cut to her outfit.

“She walked in like this — she was not dressed,” Kotb clarified.

Bush Hager then raised her foot to the table to show off her chic loafer-sock combo, after which she told the camera operator, “Don’t look too close because I haven’t shaved!”

She continued, “I was never a coastal cowgirl, I tried to be a coastal grandma but I wasn’t really one. All along, there was a grandpa hiding in me.”

Kotb continued to tease her Today co-host, telling viewers that they realized backstage that morning that Bush Hager was wearing the perfect eclectic grandpa outfit.

“In the makeup room, we were reading all of the things and Jenna was looking down like, ‘Oh, oh, oh! I got the socks!'” she said.

This trend seems quite fitting for Bush Hager, who recently compared herself to her 77-year-old mother when she awkwardly struggled to use her phone on the air.

“I feel like my mom,” she said after the segment hit an awkward pause.
