Jenna Bush Hager learned that she and Saturday Night Live alum Kristen Wiig have a very surprising thing in common during Thursday’s (April 4) episode of Today.

The co-hosts shared a clip from Wiig’s recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where she revealed that she once chipped a tooth at an SNL after-party.

“I thought Kristen Wiig and I had a few things in common, turns out we also have that,” Bush Hager said. “Well, I was in a drinking and dancing accident.”

Kotb laughed and noted, “It happens.”

Bush Hager set the scene for her co-host: “Years ago, before children — B.C. —my friend Molly Devine, in our old apartment… spun me around.” She explained that her feet “were slippery” because she was wearing tights, so when her friend let go of her she “lunged forward on the floor,” hitting her front teeth.

“How many fake teeth do you have?” Kotb then asked.

“Four, the first four,” Bush Hager answered. She bared her teeth so that Kotb could get a good look. “The ones I get lipstick on,” she added.

But the story didn’t end there. “I got up and I was like, ‘Ah, are my teeth out?’ They weren’t,” she continued. “But two days later, I was at my sister’s work and this lovely intern goes, ‘Honey, you have some gray stuff on your teeth.’ I killed four roots — no actually, Molly killed four roots.”

Luckily, Bush Hager didn’t seem too mad at her old friend Molly.

This isn’t the first time the Today host shared a wild story from her youth on-air. She once told Kotb that she almost got a tattoo on her back when she was going through a “terrible” breakup when she was younger.

“I actually remember that moment with a terrible breakup — I actually ended up getting back with that person about 47 times — but my friend Tracy was like, ‘It’s enough already, get up,’” she said. “We went out and we danced and I almost got ‘Survivor’ tattooed onto my back.”

At Kotb’s apparent shock, Bush Hager explained, “The Destiny’s Child song was popular [at the time].”

She added, “We actually went to the tattoo parlor on 6th Street and thank you, Jesus, it was closed. Imagine me with ‘Survivor’ tattooed on my back?”
