Jenna Bush Hager got spooked on a recent episode of Today With Hoda & Jenna when their broadcast was interrupted by a strange noise coming from the vent.
“You can’t hear it, I know you can’t. But it feels like this place is haunted,” she told viewers after someone from the Today crew explained where the strange noise was coming from. “I just need to speak up because I’ve had some encounters with ghosts and I’m a little scared.”
Hoda Kotb agreed, noting, “You have.”
The bizarre moment sparked a memory for Bush Hager, who revealed that her husband liked to go “ghost hunting” when they were living in the White House.
“You know what one of Henry Hager’s favorite things to do in the White House was?” She asked Kotb. “He would go call ghosts. He would go up to this room where my mom’s best friend had this experience and he would take friends after a couple of cocktails. They would call ghosts to come in and join them.”
“You’re crazy! You’re cuckoo,” Kotb replied.
Bush Hager continued, “Now, I don’t think any [ghosts] ever joined. They didn’t like what we were serving. But Henry used to love to go, ‘Who wants to go ghost hunting?'” She then apologized for bringing up ghosts, adding to Kotb, “I’m sorry, I can’t help it. But when I feel a little frightened I have to tell you.”
While she hasn’t opened up about her ghostly encounters on the show, Bush Hager did recently reveal a hilarious photo of her partying with LeBron James in Miami.
The Today host explained that she was celebrating a bachelorette party at a club in Miami when she was invited to meet the NBA star.
“This is the moment,” Kotb said as they unveiled the photo, which showed Bush Hager with a headband around her forehead and a credit card tucked into her top. “Girl with her headband and her credit card tucked into her tube top that she wore to the ‘cloob.’”
Bush Hager admitted this was the first time she’s ever shared that picture with the public.
“I haven’t shown that picture publicly because of the credit card tucked into the boob. I feel like that was irresponsible.”
“I felt like my mom might be embarrassed by that. But that memory never leaves me,” she added.
