Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb offered some valuable marriage advice to their male viewers on Today With Hoda & Jenna: It’s the little things that matter.

The conversation quickly took an emotional turn this morning as Bush Hager recounted a “sweet” moment she shared with her husband during the height of the pandemic. The story moved both co-hosts to tears.

“I do feel like if I was giving, especially men, advice on marriage, it’s doing the little, sweet things that make a huge difference,” she said. “I remember during COVID, it was like one of those days that just was everlasting, [I was] doing the show from our kitchen, feeling a little isolated, having no childcare…”

She continued, “And then I came into our room and Henry had lit a candle, that was it, and wrote this really lovely letter about how even though this was a scary, kind of fraught time, that there would be no better partner he would rather do it with.”

She and Kotb both appeared to have tears in their eyes as she added, “There was no anything except for a lovely letter and a candle lit sort of meaning like, lay down and chill. I see you and I know you’re tired and I know you picked up a lot, and just chill for a minute. It’s the little things, right?”

Kotb commented on how “beautiful” her story was. “It’s like knowing enough to look at your partner and to care,” she later said.

After looking back on that romantic gesture, Bush Hager joked that she was “having anxiety in the ways I sometimes talk to my husband.”

But by the end of the emotional conversation, both Today co-hosts let out a heavy sigh as they turned back to the camera to move on to the next segment.

“We don’t know where that came from but [it came from] deep in the well,” Bush Hager joked.

Bush Hager recently shared a rather shocking confession about her marriage on Today when she admitted that she finds it “attractive” when other women flirt with her husband because it reminds her he’s “still got it

“This may be weird, but sometimes I like it when people flirt with Henry. I don’t know why cause it’s like, ‘Oh, baby girl’s still got it,’” she confessed. “Also, I am very secure in our relationship.”
