Jeremy Allen White‘s viral underwear campaign for Calvin Klein has become practically inescapable, and now it’s landed on daytime television, too!
Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager gushed over the actor, and his now-ubiquitous model shots, after a hilarious conversation about attractive chefs.
“I remember when I first moved to New Orleans, and all the sexiest, most cool, sought-after guys were chefs, and it was the first time I ever encountered that in a town,” Kotb recalled. She added that male chefs were “the objects of everyone’s affection” at the time.
Bush Hager appeared to agree. She then questioned whether they should try finding Kotb a chef boyfriend in 2024.
“That’s why — you haven’t seen The Bear yet — but Jeremy Allen White…,” she began saying, before her co-host jumped in and added, “… is FINE!”
The topic then turned to the thing at the top of everyone’s minds this week when it comes to White: not his recent Golden Globe win, but that steamy underwear ad.
“Oh, I’ve seen the ad, are you kidding me?” Kotb said.
Bush Hager replied, “I have too, but I have to watch it in privacy just cause I don’t want Henry to know how much I love him,” referring to Henry Hager, her husband of 15 years.
Not only has the ad gone viral, but it was also mentioned multiple times at this weekend’s Golden Globes ceremony, much to White’s own embarrassment. And if that’s not enough, it’s also on massive billboards in New York City and Los Angeles.
“It’s everywhere, that ad,” Kotb commented.
Bush Hager mischievously added with a laugh, “It is, and it can be everywhere on your phone because you can Google it.”
Their conversation inspired Bush Hager to begin looking in new places for a romantic partner for her Today co-host.
“Wait, maybe that’s where we should look in 2024 for you! Down the chef route,” she said. “This just opened a whole new lane in my brain.”
Today with Jenna and Hoda airs on weekdays at 10/9c on NBC.
