Jaydon Blue chose style over comfort.

The Cowboys’ rookie running back suffered blisters on Thursday after practicing in Louis Vuitton cleats.

“A little questionable decision,” head coach Brian Schottenheimer said on Friday. “He went out there with some cool new cleats. Louis Vuitton Nikes. But they give you blisters. And so about halfway through practice, I saw him laying on the side.

“I thought, ‘What the hell happened to Blue?’ ‘Oh, Coach, I’m fine, I have blisters.’ I was like, ‘Oh, shocker. Look at your cool shoes you got.’”

Blue changed back to regular cleats for Friday’s practice.

“That’s part of what you deal with in young players,” Schottenheimer said. “And quickly he changed his cleats and it’s amazing the blisters weren’t as bad.”

Blue, the team’s fifth-round pick in April, is in line to make his season debut on Sunday against the Jets.

He was a healthy scratch the first four weeks.

But running back Miles Sanders (knee/ankle) is questionable and receiver/returner KaVontae Turpin (foot) is out for Sunday’s game, paving the way for Blue to potentially see some action.

Schottenheimer had previously been critical of Blue’s work ethic earlier in the season.

“I’ve been hard on Jaydon in the past,” Schottenheimer said. “Talking about the word ‘consistency,’ he’s been way more consistent. He’s showing up, he’s really done a great job mastering what we’re trying to do from a scheme standpoint and we’re really pleased with it.”

Blue played three years at Texas, recording 1,098 scrimmage yards and 14 total touchdowns last year.

His 4.38-second 40-yard dash at the NFL combine was second-fastest among all running backs.
