Jay Leno had a great fall.
While speaking with Inside Edition, the former Tonight Show host shared that he suffered a 60-foot fall down a hill while staying at a hotel approximately 30 miles outside of Pittsburgh. As noted by the outlet’s Jim Moret, Leno went to grab dinner prior to his show, and opted for a shortcut down the hill.
In the footage, Leno donned an eye patch over his left eye, which once he uncovered it, was revealed to be swollen shut. The left side of his face was also severely bruised, but that was not all.
“I broke my wrist, lost the nail on the finger, and then I’m all black and blue,” he explained, gesturing toward the wrap and bandage on his wrist and finger.
Leno said that he “hit a bunch of rocks” on his way down.
The comedian previously was the victim of a 2022 gasoline fire, in which he burned his face and received treatment at the Grossman Burn Center. He also fell off his motorcycle in January 2023, resulting in a broken collarbone, two broken ribs, and two cracked kneecaps, as he told the Las Vegas Review Journal at the time.
In true Leno fashion, he’s made light of his misfortune, previously showcasing his “brand new” ear and face. He recently joked at the 2024 Daytime Beauty Awards that he is a “two-faced bastard.”
“I called Dr. Grossman and I said, ‘Listen, I need another face. The other face you got was great, but I just need another,” he teased while honoring Dr. Peter Grossman at the Sept. 30 ceremony.
According to Inside Edition, Leno performed three hours following his fall, and will also be back on stage tonight for Comedy for a Cause, which benefits The Grossman Burn Foundation. Per TMZ, he had performed at the Yaamava’ Casino over the weekend.
