Jaxson Dart isn’t about to supplement teammate Deonte Banks’ income as quickly as fellow quarterback Russell Wilson did.

Dart, who is wearing No. 6 in Giants practices, wore No. 2 at Ole Miss. That number currently belongs to Banks, who acquired it in March when he cut an undisclosed deal with Wilson to surrender No. 3 to the new starting quarterback.

One month later, the Giants drafted Dart, who talked with Banks about the cost of asking him to make another switch.

“Yeah, it’s too much,” Dart told Cllct Media with a laugh. “Too much.”

Dart hasn’t yet inked his contract, but, based on the NFL rookie wage scale, he is expected to receive a four-year, $16.9 million deal that includes nearly a $9 million signing bonus.

Asked during rookie minicamp earlier this month if No. 6 was a permanent choice, Dart said that was still under consideration.

“I think we’ll come to a final decision here soon,” Dart said. “Quite honestly, I kind of have to just look at the pictures to see if I like myself in No. 6.”

No change has been made yet, as the Giants have posted photos of Dart wearing No. 6 during spring workouts. Players will be on the field for OTA practices open to the media beginning this week.

Banks, a 2023 first-round pick, wore No. 24 during a promising rookie season. He switched to No. 3 after Sterling Shepard left the team, and his play nosedived in 2024.

Now, he is No. 2 after Drew Lock’s departure.

Banks is halfway through a four-year, $13.5 million contract.

It’s common practice in pro sports for teammates to charge one another to give up a number, though there is no universal rate.

Wilson, who has earned more than $305 million on the field during a nine-time Pro Bowl career, certainly had the funds to meet any price for No. 3.
