Jasson Dominguez is on the road to recovery.
The Yankees’ 20-year-old outfielder underwent “Tommy John” reconstruction surgery on Wednesday, which included the addition of internal bracing, the team announced.
While the internal brace procedure has sped up other players’ recovery from torn UCLs — Red Sox shortstop Trevor Story returned from it in seven months earlier this year — the Yankees reiterated on Wednesday that the timeline for Dominguez’s return is nine to 10 months.
After Wednesday’s surgery, performed by Dr. Keith Meister in Arlington, Tex., Dominguez posted to Instagram that he was “officially bionic.”
He also had Yankees director of medical services, Steve Donohue, by his side.
In an eight-game cameo with the Yankees before being diagnosed with a torn UCL in his right elbow, Dominguez hit .258 with four home runs and a .980 OPS.
