Selling Sunset consistently shines a spotlight on inordinately expensive real estate listings, major sales, and whopping commissions, but one of the most outrageous Season 7 moments will live rent-free in your head for the rest of time: Jason Oppenheim climbing The O Group’s office bell.
What compelled the real estate mogul to hoist his five-foot-something frame up to the top of his office’s ceiling in the middle of a workday? Well, it all went down in Episode 7, “Cabo San Loco.”
Before The Oppenheim Group’s LA employees headed to Cabo to check out the competition, Chelsea Lazkani burst into the office, started dancing, and announced that she just secured a sale on a 6-bedroom, 9-bath, 10,847 square foot property located on Mulholland Drive in Beverly Hills. The offer was accepted at $10,050,000, which meant she’d snag $301,500 in commission. So, as Selling Sunset fans could imagine, she had good reason to ring the office’s celebratory sale bell.
“You don’t gotta tell me twice,” Chelsea said before she let an “epic” bell ring rip. “Guys, don’t get used to me selling $10 million homes, otherwise that bell will be ringing a lot. I’ll be swinging on it.”
After a moment of celebration, Emma Hernan asked, “Jason can we swing on this bell?” The boss immediately replied, “You could climb up that rope, I bet you.”
Before Chelsea could even finish saying, “I bet you I could,” Jason was up from his desk, swiftly making his way over to the bell with eyes wide. “I bet you could,” he echoed before grabbing the rope, pulling his legs up over the bell, and embarking on a deeply unnecessary physical fitness challenge — complete with grunts! With Chelsea and his ex Chrishell Stause standing beneath him, Jason, his cream-colored velvet shirt, his fitted professional pants, and his brown dress shoes shimmied up the O Group’s rope as his agents and brother looked on — some in genuine glee, others with cringeworthy confusion.

“Oh my god, I am so doing that next,” Chrishell said before placing her hands over her mouth in concern.
“Uh, what’s the insurance policy that we have in this office,” Nicole Young said as she gazed on, giving off a mix of annoyance and fear.
As Jason pulled his way to the top I had three overwhelming thoughts. First: The Oppenheim Group’s ceilings were much higher than I thought all these years. Second: This was one of the most bizarre scenes I’ve ever watched on television. Third: Once Jason started climbing that bell he knew there was no turning back because just like a kid flexing on a middle school physical fitness test, he had to impress his crush.
“Oh my god, be careful! Oh my god, be careful!” Chrishell screamed when Jason started getting some serious height.
“He’s fine!” Brett Oppenheim chimed in. And with that, his brother started his descent back to solid ground (and hopefully, reality).
When Jason got his butt back on the bell, Chrishell grabbed him for support, Chelsea cheered him on, and Emma shamelessly snapped proof of chaos. (Emma, if you’re reading this, you better drop those photos or video, girl.)
Jason hopped down — ALIVE — and casually announced, “No more climbing!” What shenanigans will unfold in the new LA office right next door to the historic O Group bell climb? Only time will tell.
Selling Sunset Season 7 is now streaming on Netflix.
