If Jason Kelce is set to retire, consider this a strong start to his post-NFL life.
The Eagles’ veteran center, who claimed he has not decided whether it’s time to hang up the cleats after 13 years, surprised a fan and employee at his local McDonald’s in Havertown, Penn., with a signed jersey.
The employee, Danielle Bonham, posted with the green jersey, with Kelce smiling in his car in the background.
The jersey has Kelce’s signature and his jersey number, and is inscribed: “To Danielle … Go Birds! Thank you!
Bonham and Kelce had crossed paths before, with the outlet saying she has served the future Hall of Famer sausage, egg and cheese sandwiches.
“I’m forever grateful and very fortunate to have crossed paths with him as many times as I did, and I just wish him nothing but the best,” Bonham told Fox 29.
Kelce, 36, is a regular in his Pennsylvania community.
“He’s got his footprint all over this town. The flower shop over here, the Wawa, the Kettle down on the boulevard, I mean he’s all over St. Dennis fair with his kids,” Havertown business owner Carl Henderson told Fox 29. “I’ve seen a lot of athletes come and go, but Jason’s a special dude.”
Kelce has otherwise been in the news surrounding his expected retirement.
Multiple outlets said Kelce told his teammates he’s retiring after the Eagles’ 32-9 loss to the Buccaneers on Monday in the wild card round, but he said that’s not the case in the latest episode of his “New Heights” podcast he hosts with brother and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

“I didn’t announce what I was doing on purpose, despite, I guess, what’s been leaked to the media,” Jason told Travis.
“I just don’t think you’re in a position after a game like that to really make that decision, I just don’t, there’s too much emotion in the moment, there’s too much going down in the moment to really fully grasp that decision.”
