Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump toured an Israeli kibbutz that was devastated during the Oct. 7 terrorist attack as a show of solidarity for the Jewish State.
The Jewish couple could be seen tearing up as they conducted a tour of Kibbutz Kfar Aza on Thursday, meeting with IDF soldiers and local residents who shared their stories of the horror that befell their village when Hamas invaded.
The kibbutz, which borders Gaza, was the site of 64 murders and 19 kidnappings, with five of those still believed to be hostages in Hamas’ custody.
The daughter of former US President Donald Trump and her husband were also allowed to step inside the ruins of the homes that were burned down and destroyed during the terrorist attack, according to Israel National News.
Both Jared and Ivanka, who were both seen wearing bulletproof vests and walking hand-in-hand, appeared at awe over the sheer devastation as one IDF soldier described the kibbutz before the attack as “the safest, most happiest piece of heaven that you can find.”
Ivanka was also seen holding back tears as one IDF soldier recalled the story of an Israeli who was gunned down by Hamas terrorists as she attempted to escape through a window in her home.
One of the most haunting moments of the visit came inside a home that has been outfitted as a memorial site for future generations to visit, with the last texts of the occupants plastered on the walls of the safe room where they hid before Hamas broke in.
At the end of the tour, Ivanka and Jared went on to present commemorative medallions to those who defended Kfar Aza and its residents from the Hamas forces, with the couple specifically giving a nod to the female officers and soldiers.
“Thank you for sharing these stories with us,” Jared told the women. “It’s very humbling for me to be with you, with the heroic act that you did.”
Ivanka and Jared are expected to meet Israeli President Isaac Herzog later on Thursday before their departing flight, Ynet.com reports.
The couple are only the latest big names to arrive in Israel in recent days to visit the kibbutz that were hit during the Oct. 7 terrorist attack that left more than 1,200 people dead.
Earlier this week, comedian Jerry Seinfeld stopped by the Kibbutz Be’eri, another one of the villages destroyed by Hamas, as well as the location of the Nova rave, where more than 300 people were slaughtered.
The Jewish American TV-star has said he worked on a kibbutz when he was 16 and that he will “always stand with Israel and the Jewish people.”
The visit to Be’eri came after he met with several of the hostages freed by Hamas and the families of those still held captive in Gaza.
