NextImg:Jalin Hyatt making big changes in attempt to salvage Giants career

Giants receiver Jalin Hyatt is preparing for a pivotal year in his career.

The young receiver is entering his third season in the NFL and looking to improve his game

Last year, his involvement on the field was at an all-time low, hauling in just eight receptions on 19 targets.

That has led to Hyatt’s name slipping down the depth chart to the fourth receiver. However, that is not something that concerns the receiver on the first day of training camp.

“For me, it’s just executing, being consistent [and] making plays that come to me,” Hyatt said. “I’m not really worried about any rotations.”

In addition to improving consistency throughout his game, Hyatt stated the most significant aspect of his game he has been working to improve is his physicality.

He said he has put on some muscle to help him improve at contested catches and run blocking.

What helps a young receiver improve is, of course, the receiver coaches. But just as important as them is the guy throwing the ball.

Luckily for Hyatt, he has a great mentor to learn from in veteran quarterback Russell Wilson.

“Jalin Hyatt, he’s a guy who was a super-high draft pick, he’s so talented and he’s got so much ability and I think he’s going to really shine for us,” Wilson said. “I think he hasn’t done what he’s wanted to do yet, but I think part of that is just the dialogue between me and him is so close, and just all the communication that really showed up in the offseason.”

Hyatt is part of a younger, but now more experienced, receiver room coming into the 2025 season. Hyatt knows this group of receivers can exceed expectations.

“I think, with that receiver room, we can be as great as we want to be,” Hyatt said. “We just got to go out there and show that and prove it.”

One thing he wants the group to focus on is building off each other’s successes. Hyatt believes when one receiver makes a great play, the rest of the group can “feel the juice.”

One feat Hyatt himself is looking to accomplish is scoring his first career touchdown.

If and when that does happen, Hyatt knows how he will celebrate: “Pointing up in the sky, man, bless the Lord.”
