Newlywed Jalen Hurts is grateful for his “rock” as he enters his first NFL season as a Super Bowl champion and husband.
In an interview Thursday with “Good Morning America,” the starting Eagles quarterback offered rare insight into his marriage to Bryonna “Bry” Burrows, whom he quietly wed earlier this spring before celebrating with a lavish Napa Valley affair over the summer.
“You know where your strength comes from. You know where your rock is. And those are the things that always give you encouragement anytime you step into something,” Hurts said.
The reigning Super Bowl MVP, 27, first crossed paths with Burrows at the University of Alabama in 2016.
Though relatively private about their relationship, the couple celebrated on the field at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans this past February when Hurts guided the Eagles to a dominant 40-22 Super Bowl victory over the Chiefs.
“The offense was able to score points and take advantage of opportunities just enough to put points on the board and the defense played their ass off,” said Hurts, who threw two touchdowns and one interception while also rushing for a score.
“They played like they played all year. I truly believe that offense wins games and defense wins championships.”
In the weeks following the Eagles’ Super Bowl triumph, Hurts revealed in a cover story for Men’s Health that he’s a married man.
When speaking about Burrows, the former second-round pick said, “You can call her my wife.”
The couple swapped vows for a second time in a lavish Napa Valley, Calif., ceremony in June — less than a year after confirming their engagement.
“I knew a long time ago,” Hurts said of Burrows to Essence in 2023. “I mean, to this point in my life, that’s an irreplaceable feeling. I think that’s what allowed us to get to where we are now.”
Hurts and the Eagles kick off the season at home Thursday night against the division rival Cowboys.
