NextImg:Jalen Brunson’s immediate reaction to Knicks’ latest thriller in Boston: ‘Some wild stuff’

In the immediate aftermath of Wednesday’s Game 2 win in Boston, Jalen Brunson seemed nearly as stunned as everyone else in the building.

His two free throws late sealed the Knicks’ improbable 91-90 win over the Celtics, and after the game, he was interviewed on the TD Garden court by TNT Sports and was asked if the team needed to be down in the fourth quarter to get that extra jolt.

He couldn’t fully explain the team’s second straight come-from-behind win but described what happened as “wild.”

“I don’t know but I’m just happy that we found a way to win,” Brunson said. “That’s some wild stuff right there.”

Brunson, who had 17 points, missed a potential game-winner at the end of regulation in Game 1, but he said that miss did not faze him at the charity stripe this night.

“I got up there, heard the noise and I just tried to block everything out,” Brunson added. “And then made two.”

In Game 1, the Knicks trailed by as many as 20 in the third quarter before storming back for an overtime win on Monday night to take a surprising 2-0 series lead.

They used a similar playbook in Game 2 and trailed by 16 points with just 8:40 to play in the fourth quarter before storming back once again.

It was Brunson who gave the Knicks the lead for good with two free throws with 12.1 seconds left before Mikal Bridges’ steal in the waning seconds — much like he did in Game 1 — closed out the latest thrilling win.
