Floyd Mayweather couldn’t help but laugh when he was asked about his reaction to the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight.
During an appearance on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon,” Mayweather explained that a potential fight with Paul would be a cakewalk for him at age 48.
“Easy, too easy,” Mayweather said when Fallon asked about potentially sparring with Paul, 27, who defeated 58-year-old Tyson by unanimous decision last November. “At 48, too easy.”
Paul, who re-shared a clip of the interview, said he would knock out Mayweather if they got into the ring together.
“You bum,” Paul wrote on X. “[YouTuber] Deji [Olatunji] gave you a black eye in an event that had 4,000 people in it. Deji hahahah. I would knock you out in 2 rounds and you can’t sniff Mike Tyson’s toe.”

Paul previously defeated Olatunji in the fifth round of their bout in 2018, the same year Deji made his boxing debut.
Mayweather defeated Olatunji in the sixth round during a 2022 exhibition.
“I don’t really know where to go with this subject because if I say something, I’m gonna get backlash… no matter what I say, it’s always not right,” Mayweather told Fallon regarding Tyson-Paul, which was streamed on Netflix.
“Well basically, when you’re watching boxing for free, you can have… hundreds of millions of views, but when you’re watching Floyd Mayweather you have to pay. It’s real.
“I did pay-per-view numbers. Check the record.”
Paul, 28, previously denied that his unanimous decision win over 58-year-old Tyson on Nov. 15 was manipulated through contractual agreements after both fighters faced backlash for putting on a lackluster event.
Many believed the anticipated showdown was a snoozefest because both fighters didn’t appear to give it their all in the ring.
After the fight, Paul explained that he didn’t want to hurt the former heavyweight champ further.
Tyson landed 18 punches out of 97 while Paul connected on 78 out of 278 punches, according to the final results.
Tyson reportedly earned $20 million for the fight, while Paul received $40 million.
Mayweather retired from professional boxing after defeating Conor McGregor in 2017.
He maintained his undefeated record with a series of exhibition bouts in the years that followed — including an eight-round exhibition against Paul’s older brother, Logan, which took place in Dubai in 2022.
“Me and Logan [Paul], we done an exhibition and that’s why he moved to WWE because he wanted to hold me the whole night,” Mayweather joked about the 2021 bout, which had no judges or official winner. “I think WWE is good for Logan.”
Logan landed 28 of his 217 punches, while Mayweather connected on 43 of his 107 in the exhibition fight, which took place in Miami with Jake in attendance.
Mayweather added that he doesn’t have an itch to return to the ring.
“No, not at all,” he told Fallon a potential return to the sport. “I could sit on my couch every week and a wire come in every week — millions every week. That’s why I’m Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather, every week.”
