Jacksonville Jaguars left tackle Cam Robinson has been suspended four games by the NFL for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy, the team announced.
The 27-year-old tackle will be eligible to participate in training camp and the preseason but will miss the first four regular season games and lose $3,555,552.
The suspension also voids the guarantee of his $16 million base salary in 2023, which is the second of a three-year, $52.75 million contract extension, ESPN reported.
“As a veteran leader in the locker room, I always want to set a good example and my actions in this instance are not a reflection of that goal. I apologize to the fans, my coaches and, most importantly, my teammates,” Robinson said in a statement, according to the Jaguars. “It hurts me that I cannot be out there with my brothers at the start of the regular season.
“I will attack training camp the same way I have for the last six seasons, to make sure I am ready both mentally and physically.”
The team released its own statement, saying it will continue to support Robinson as he sits out.
“We are aware of the four-game suspension incurred today by OL Cam Robinson. While we certainly respect the NFL’s ruling and are disappointed with this development, we will support Cam as he works his way through the suspension.
“We are confident that Cam and our team will rise above this challenge as we collectively move forward.”
Robinson has started at left tackle for the Jaguars since he was drafted in the second round in 2017.
He’s been an integral part of the offensive line that protected quarterback Trevor Lawrence and helped the team reach the second round of the 2022 postseason.
Third-year tackle Walker Little will likely handle left tackle duties during Robinson’s suspension, while the Jaguars’ first-round draft pick in this past NFL Draft, Anton Harrison, will play right tackle.

Robinson will first be eligible to return in Week 5 against the Bills when the Jaguars when they play at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
