Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant’s sister, Teniya Morant, doubled down on his “receipts” comment after he hit the game-winner in his first game back from a 25-game suspension.
After the All-Star point guard — who was suspended for brandishing a gun in an Instagram Live video — made a contested floater at the buzzer to give the Grizzlies a 115-113 win over the Pelicans on Tuesday, and was seen yelling, “I kept receipts too” as he ran into the tunnel after the game.
Teniya reposted the video, which was initially posted by the Grizzlies, on her Instagram Story, and wrote, “We all kept em!! Stay on that side!! Ion hear y’all nomo goofiessssssss!”
Teniya — who is a freshman point guard at Mississippi Valley State University — reportedly trolled critics of Morant in a separate video, according to the X user @big_business_.
“That’s why I love that y’all talk so much,” she yelled. “I love that y’all came on here and y’all would talk so much to me. I loved it.
“So I could come here today, on this day today and tell y’all that he is him — tell y’all that he is him!
“It’s 12 time baby!” she said, referring to Morant’s jersey number. “Nothing else, 12 time … come on! Come on!
“I waited on this day for this long I waited, just so I could come here and tell y’all that he is him. He is him, literally him!
“Y’all knew what it was. I don’t know what y’all act like y’all didn’t know what it was going to be. Y’all knew what it was when he,” she said before the video cut off.
In a series of posts on her Instagram Story, Teniya continued celebrating Morant’s first game in 235 days.
“12 timeeee!!” she wrote over the clip with a bunch of blue heart and goat emojis. “He’s backkkkk!! Stay on dat side!”
A separate message read” “They can’t guard him, they can’t guard him!!!!” and “Tell a friend to tell a friend… He’s backkkkkkkk.”
Teniya also shared a screenshot of Morant’s game stats: 34 points, six rebounds and eight assists.
Morant was greeted with boos at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, where his father, Tee Morant and best friend, Davonte Pack, sat courtside.
The two-time All-Star led his team back from a 24-point deficit before his first game-winning buzzer-beater of his career to beat the Pelicans.
Morant looked like he didn’t miss a beat after serving a 25-game suspension, his second such suspension by the league this year.
The 24-year-old NBA star brandished a firearm in a separate live stream on March 4 at Shotgun Willie’s strip club in Glendale, Colo.
“I feel like it was the perfect ending, perfect day,” Morant said after his return.
“Obviously I’ve been working hard, but it’s nothing like NBA basketball, so that’s pretty much just doing the inhaler to try to get more oxygen in the body to be able to go out there and deliver.
“When I got back in at that eight-minute mark, they pretty much told me, ‘You’re not coming out.’ I just had to lock in and just push through. [That is] pretty much my life — just continuing to push no matter what.”
