Just in time for Prime Day, Amazon Prime members can score a Kindle Paperwhite — the best Kindle, per my testing — for just $135. Normally priced at $150, the $15 discount makes the Paperwhite almost the same price as the basic Kindle (when it’s not on sale, of course).

A Paperwhite for the price of the basic Kindle isn’t an offer I’d pass up, and you shouldn’t either.

As I noted in my review, the Kindle Paperwhite is the best Kindle for most people. It’s my own go-to thanks to its larger screen, adjustable brightness and warmth, and unrivaled battery life, plus I love that it has a sleeker flush-front design (when compared to the basic Kindle), and it’s waterproof so I can read in the pool all summer long (and I sure have been this year — no water damage to be found!).

The Kindle Paperwhite has a 6.8” flush-front 300 pixel-per-inch display with adjustable front light and adjustable warmth to help cut down on blue light exposure. The battery can last weeks on one charge and it’s waterproof for reading in the bath, pool, or beach.
